Final Exam

The Final Exam consists of a written and an oral component.

BA Written Final Exam Requirements:

In the written part, students answer so-called test questions. These questions (10 per each basic discipline) are selected for each exam from a predefined pool of topics known in advance to the students. The basic disciplines are: developmental psychology, general psychology, personality psychology, and social psychology.

Students receive the questions in multiple-choice format, meaning that each question includes several possible answers, from which only one is correct. The 40 questions must be answered in 30 minutes. It is not possible to go back to previous questions during the process.

The written exam is conducted in person, via Elearning. The number of students taking the exam at the same time depends on the number of available computers. Questions are generated randomly, and a computer-based system ensures that, upon completion of the exam, the result is immediately displayed on the student’s screen, while the instructor can see the results of all students on their own screen. Each correct answer is worth one point.

The written Final Exam consists of two parts, “A” and “B”, and it is mandatory to begin with part “A”. Admission to the oral Final Exam requires achieving at least 50% in one of the two parts. If both parts are unsuccessful, the written exam is considered failed, and the student may retake it in the next Final Exam period.

Written exam results: 50% or above – pass; below 50% – fail.
The result of the written exam is taken into account by the Final Exam Committee in the final evaluation.

BA Oral Final Exam Requirements:

The oral Final Exam consists of two components: the presentation of the thesis and the development and presentation of a topic drawn from a predefined set of questions covering the core areas of psychological basic disciplines.

Structure of the oral Final Exam:

a. The student presents their research-based thesis (major research project) in 15 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions from the members of the Final Exam Committee.
b. The student presents the drawn topic in 10 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of questions from the committee related to the topic.
